Grandparents!

My parents came out to visit for about 2 weeks in June. It was so nice to have them here, to play with M and to help with a ton of stuff around the house. My dad helped install the new garage door opener, tiled part of the floor, planted some more seeds and plants in our garden, painted our built in book shelve, hung a bunch of stuff on the walls, mowed the lawn, and much more. My mom entertained M so I could finish unpacking, gave M baths, helped me make strawberry jam and she scrubbed my huge tile floor not once but twice! Erik and I even got to out to a nice restaurant for our anniversary while M got some quality grandparent time.

We did a bit of sightseeing while they were here including the Ben and Jerry Factory, Fort Ticonderoga, and Moss Glen Falls. They bought a large supply of maple syrup to take back home with them. Good thing this year was a record production year, or they might have caused some serious disruptions in the maple syrup supply ; )

M's vocabulary really expanded during their visit and has continued to do so. He will now make the corresponding noise if you ask him what a cat, dog, cow, lion, snake or train say. He can say ball, car, air plane, up, uh-oh, mama, dada, papa, nana and my favorite is tractor.

M has also gotten almost totally independent at meal time which makes eating more enjoyable for everyone. He has mastered using a spoon and has even gotten quite good at picking up peas with a fork which is no easy task!

I'm so glad they could visit and hope we get some more visitors soon : )
