We had family photos taken in mid September. It's always nice to more formally capture the kids growing up. They both seem to have grown and matured a lot this past year with M starting kindergarten and J starting preschool. M learned to tie his shoes and finally was able to move to a booster seat. J has been very proud of herself for doing things independently with potty training and sleeping in a big bed topping her list of accomplishments. Those are a just a few things that stand out in my mind. J is still holding on to her habit of sucking her thumb and though we tried to make sure she wasn't sucking her thumb in pictures, my favorite photo was the one where she was. It just kind of perfectly captured what are family looks like.
