J has been her usual cheerful self through the whole ordeal despite the challenges. Changing bandages those first few weeks was so awful though. Three weeks after the accident, J had skin graft surgery on her palm which happened to be in the shape of a heart. She has been a trooper with all of the physical therapy and stretching that is needed. She had another skin graft surgery on her finger this week and will wear a special glove for about the next year.
The doctors said she should have a fully functional hand in the end and we've been so glad to hear that news. Erik and I have felt so terrible that she has to face this, but have really appreciated the kind notes and gifts from everyone.
Initially J preferred to keep her hand raised at all times:
This resulted in a 3 limb crawl that was pretty impressive:

We're happy to report that she seems to be feeling good and has been happy and recovering well!

Oh my heart just breaks for little June and for you guys! So frustrating when something happens so quick like that. I'm glad she has done so well. She's such a cute cute baby!
