Thursday:
- Sang along to the song Do-Re-Mi from the Sound of Music soundtrack more times than we can count. Our baby loves it and it calms him down. It worked during that last 1/2 hour of driving when he was ready to be out of his car seat.
- Ate our tinfoil dinners with some nifty chopsticks we fashioned out of little sticks.
- Scared Stacey with our new stuffed animal skunk.
- Woke up at 4:45am to squawking from our happy little early bird and some crows that we're pretty sure he was attracting with his noise. We went on a nice early morning drive to the top of Cadillac Mountain to spare our neighbors the noise. If you must be up that early in the morning, beautiful scenery and good company makes it all worth it.
- Went on a hike near Sand Beach.
- Had lunch in Bar Harbor and some delicious ice cream
- Walked down to beautiful ocean views near our campsite
- Ate yummy dutch oven food for dinner and dessert
Sunday:
- Hiked to Bubble Rock
- Rode our bikes on the carriage roads near Witches Hole. Discovered a nice overlook of the bay where the fireworks were to be shown later that night.
- Hiked up to the aforementioned overlook where we were sure we would have a nice view that no one else would know about. No one else did no about it and sadly we could only see the top half of the fireworks since we ended up at a weird angle.
- Hiked a steep trail called the Beehive with some beautiful views
- A nice woman at the gas station gave our baby this balloon on the way home. It definitely kept him entertained.
There was so much to do. Hopefully we can go back again next year. I want to go whale watching there.
